WE DEVELOP INSTRUCTIONAL SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES and WORKSHOPS THAT ARE SPECIFIC TO YOUR NEEDS! We do not offer “cookie cutter” classes/workshops because each family, group, school, business or health care facility may have different needs- such as a certain vocabulary base. Each class is catered to what you need to learn.

BABY, TODDLER and PRESCHOOL SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
Our Baby, Toddler, and Preschool Sign Language course was developed to help family members, childcare providers, educators, speech and language therapists and more learn the basics of signing with a young child. This class is very popular with new parents which is why it is often held at local community hospitals that offer post-natal classes for parents. We also have had great success with this program in schools and daycare facilities. We do offer individual classes for families within their home.

Please note that our Baby, Toddler, and Preschool Sign Language workshops are very popular! We would suggest that you call for availability as soon as possible to ensure the dates you wish.
The DVD that accompanies this workshop is our successful Baby, Toddler and Preschool Sign Language DVD presented by Louise Sattler and Friends! (We recognize that our brains can only recall a certain amount of information!) Keep in mind that this DVD is in essence our workshop (without all the games!) and includes the bonus features of the alphabet, numbers 1-10 (English and Spanish) and narrative Spanish with signing.
PHOTOGRAPHY of signs used in our DVD as an individual disk may be ordered as well. They can be used as FLASHCARDS or help with picture exchange for special needs children. We have included many cards with written Spanish, as well. A few sample FLASHCARDS are:

Our American Sign Language “Just the basics” course was developed for those who wished to learn one of the most popular languages used in the United States! Our ASL class was created to teach anyone who wished to learn sign. Many people take this course to be able to communicate with deaf or hard of hearing people in their workplace, business, school or neighborhood. Our Just the Basics class teaches simples words, phrases and other “grammatical” concepts unique to ASL. We recommend this course for anyone interested in learning how to sign or who wish to refresh their memories from a previous class!
The DVD that accompanies this class or workshop would be available only during the workshop and is titled ASL- JUST THE BASICS!

ADAPTIVE/FUNCTIONAL SIGN LANGUAGE FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
Communication for those who live, educate or provide care services for individuals with special needs such as those with Autism, Down Syndrome, or Speech and Language Delays
Our Adaptive/Functional sign language class is for those people who live or work with individuals with special learning or medical needs. The signs are shown “functionally” or how a person with limitations may make the sign instead of using exact accuracy for placement or handshape.
Language therapists often recommend the use of Sign Language with special
needs children and adults. We often teach this workshop
to school district personnel as part of their staff development training.
Louise Sattler, the instructor for this class, is a School Psychologist
and designed this course for those who work with children and adults with
Autism, Down Syndrome, Speech and Language disorders and other physical
or medical impairments.
You may ask how is Adaptive/Functional Sign Language different than American Sign Language or a form of Signed English? In essence, we demonstrate signed vocabulary made with correct handshapes and location and then again show the most common ways that a person may make the sign if they have physical or cognitive impairments. By learning different ways in which a sign can be made helps to facilitate communication between caregiver/educator and the special needs individual. When communication gaps are bridged then cooperation is increased, frustration is reduced and all feel empowered! A win-win situation for all!
We have made a special DVD to accompany our Adaptive/Functional
Sign Language course. This DVD is able to be re-mastered
with an individuals name signed and spoken several times during the viewing
of the video. This re-mastering is a separate price from the DVD itself.

SIGN LANAUGE FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
Sign Language for Emergency Situations is our newest workshop with a companion DVD. Designed to teach First Responders, Health Care Professionals, and School Personnel words and phrases commonly needed during an emergency or medical situation. This workshop is commonly one-hour long to fit the needs of adults with busy schedules.
